It has a strong and fusiform body. His head is large and triangular shaped. It is gray-blueish on the dorsal side and whitish on the ventral side (belly area).

It can reach a size up to 50 cm, but their most common size is between 15 and 30 cm. Its average weight is about 300 grams. The females are larger than males.

  • Entire fish and refrigerated in water, ice and salt

Traditionally it is a species fished in large quantities and with commercial importance, being its market price very competitive.
